My name is Gwen Frost, and I go to Mythos Academy; a school of myths, magic and warrior whiz kids, where even the lowliest geek knows how to chop off somebody's head with a sword and Logan Quinn, the hottest Spartan guy in school, also happens to be the deadliest. But lately, things have been weird, even for Mythos. First, mean girl Jasmine Ashton was murdered in the Library of Antiquities. Then, someone stole the Bowl of Tears, a magical artifact that can be used to bring about the second Chaos War. You know, death, destruction and lots of other bad, bad things. Freaky stuff like this goes on all the time at Mythos, but I'm determined to find out who killed Jasmine and why; especially since I should have been the one who died... So I'm being all sneaky and working on this review instead of reading chapter 2 in my homework. Hey I got a little bit of time and only like 10 pages left.....who am I kidding..... Anyway I will try to be short and brief and not dwell on the repeating factor that I HATE WITH ALL OF MY BEING! I mean loathe. severely loathe and despise. Please if you are an author reading this....in the sequels go based on the fact that i have read the PREVIOUS BOOKS THUS I AM READING THE SEQUELS! Okay okay....maybe it is out of my system now. These books go by fast because of the stinking repeating.........................must not fume....must not rant....must contain oneself.....think of something pretty....oh I know! Kellan Lutz as Logan Quinn. Yes prettttttttttty.... Okay okay on with the review. The book picks up with Gwen at Mythos Academy. She is the classic outsider, the geek, the loser with no friends....yeah I confess....she's a klutzy geeky loser that sneaks out of the Academy to visit her grandma daily.... Yeah well you don't have a future seeing grandmother do you? Do ya, do ya, do ya? Good cause I wanted to know. (Glozell inside joke) Well anyway Gwen finally meets Logan and is scared of him at first (because he is an awesome fighter and the bad boy rep see my Logan "Freakin" Quinn book boyfriend fangirling on another page) and she had literally ran into him. Like books and comic books ( yeah they are hers) go everywhere. He was first mad then he sees that it was her and gets his flirt on. Yeeeeeeeeeeeeeeepp. Anyway Gwen works at the library at the Academy and they had just put the Bowl of Tears on display there. It was one of the super special you can just read the book details....Anyway has to do with the bad guy Loki. NO not Thor's Loki. Not this one. Look at the cutie! and oh this guy........he's the baddy. Yes I know this is probably from Game of Thrones but it's how Loki is supposed to look. Anyway she is working that night when she comes from out of the bookshelves to find a girl with her throat cut and the Bowl of Tears nowhere to be found then someone knocks her out. Well we later find out that the girl that was dead was in fact alive and was a Reaper (Loki's followers) and had stolen the Bowl herself. Welllllllllllll Logan has a thing for rescuing Gwen....AWWW right??? Well he rescues her several times and then when the girl who was supposedly dead (umm I can't remember her name right now) tries to kill Gwen when she finds out she's alive. Logan then comes to the rescue and kills the Reaper girl. That's my man. Killing the baddies. And with that I end my review. I have homework to do.....Whoohoo....not........... I know Damon you don't want me to go but I have to.
I give this book a 4 out of 5 stars a 3 out of 5 kisses for Romance a 4 out of 5 Bowl of Tears for Violence Madison

Warning- This book is long, so it will be long and it will have spoilers. Sixteen-year-old Evangeline "Evie" Greene leads a charmed life, until she begins experiencing horrifying hallucinations. When an apocalyptic event decimates her Louisiana hometown, Evie realizes her hallucinations were actually visions of the future—and they're still happening. Fighting for her life and desperate for answers, she must turn to her wrong-side-of-the-bayou classmate: Jack Deveaux. But she can't do either alone. With his mile-long rap sheet, wicked grin, and bad attitude, Jack is like no boy Evie has ever known. Even though he once scorned her and everything she represented, he agrees to protect Evie on her quest. She knows she can't totally depend on Jack. If he ever cast that wicked grin her way, could she possibly resist him? Who can Evie trust? As Jack and Evie race to find the source of her visions, they meet others who have gotten the same call. An ancient prophesy is being played out, and Evie is not the only one with special powers. A group of twenty-two teens has been chosen to reenact the ultimate battle between good and evil. But it's not always clear who is on which side. Ok, I have decided if it has POISON in the name, I am going to like it. This book is really creepy on so many levels. You have one point of view from psycho serial killer that keeps girls in his basement, oozy zombie like things that kill you and drink all the moisture out of your body, cannibals that eat you because they are starving because everything has died, psycho militia people that kidnap girls and marry them off and slavers that make the men dig until they find an underground spring and use the girls for the same purpose as the militia people. Oh and let's not forget the creepy teens that are the things off Tarot cards! This book starts out with Evangeline or "Evie" waking up and getting ready for her first day back at school. Normally, this wouldn't be a big deal, but she was pulled out last year and sent to the loony bin because she has scary hallucinations and she hears voices. (Turns out it is the other kids like her. They like share like a frequency or something. I don't know.) But everyone thought she was at some kind of cool school. Her boyfriend Brandon picks her up and on the way to school, a group of scary looking youths on motorcycles pass them. When they get to school, the youths pull up. This book starts out in Louisiana, so there are Cajuns. The youths are from the other side of the bayou and they are the poor ones. They aren't really making themselves look good either. I mean come on, the girl flashes her underwear getting off the bike. All of the sudden the tall, dark,so hot that he could make cheese melt just by looking at, guy hops off and starts staring at her. Not the occasional glance, full on staring. Creepy, I know. As the weeks go on, he is still staring and talking in French and Canjun to his friend. Little do they know that Evie knows what they are saying. Well Jackson, make cheese melt man, figures it out and starts taunting her with it. They are paired up for a History project, but nothing comes of it because The Flash happens. Yes, there is stuff that happens between The Flash and Jackson and Evie's history class mishap, but we ain't got time fo dat. So, The Flash happens, and everything that is outside dies, shrivels up, dusted, cremated, whatever you want to call it. It also dried up all the water, except for the underground wells and stuff like that. Well, for almost six months, Evie and her Mother are on their own. Her mother gets injured and is dying. Evie tries to get their horse, which is half dead, up so she can go get a doctor. Well, since the horse is half dead and not moving, she gets mad and somehow starts bleeding. Well, when her blood hits the ground stuff starts popping up out of the ground. Another thing, before The Flash, plants would try to reach out to her and stuff. Did she freak out about this and stay in the house forever like I would have? No. This is perfectly normal! She freakin' frolics through the Cane, that grows around her house, like it is a tampon commercial. I would be hiding in my closet popping my cray cray pills. Anyway, back to where ever I was at. RIght, sick mom, dying horse, and plants popping out of the ground. She discovers that her blood is "life" and she grows plants in her barn to try to help her mother get better. Well, one day, she hears a motorcycle. She thinks she is hallucinating, due to the fact they are starving and she is being driven to insanity by voices, and a random guy named Matthew keeps popping up in the form of hallucinations. Turns out she is wrong, Jackson or Jack pulls up on his motorcycle with a crossbow strapped to his back, like a hot Daryl Dixon. Of course, she freaks out at the wrong moments. Oh, of course I can make things grow with my blood that is completely normal! Oh! A guy that I went to school with, that might have a thing for me just showed up! Let me shoot at him with my shot gun! Anyways, she get knocked out and she wakes up in her room. Turns out her mother and Jack get along and she makes him promise to take care of her. Jack tells them they have to leave in the morning if they want to live. He was in a militia army, but he deserted because of what they were doing to the women. He came back to warn Evie. She argues with him and tells him that she will just wait to see if they have a doctor and that her mother is in no shape to move anyways. They agree to talk about it more in the morning and they go to bed. She wakes up and sees Jack on the steps. He tells her her mother died in the night. Evie has a hard time leaving her mother, but the psycho killers are coming so they leave in the car that Jack fixed up the night before. He agrees to take her to North or South Carolina to find her Grandmother that knows what is going on with her. The voices quiet down when Jack is around. He kind of keeps her grounded. I guess. So they drive around forever, Jack gripes about Evie's stomach growling and how she cries after her mother DIED! Like any normal person,Evie gets tired of Jack's mood swings and they fight all the time. I mean I would be irritated with him too. Scratch that. Furious with him you find out later in the book, that he does like her a lot and he didn't like to hear her stomach growling because he knew she was hungry and he couldn't do anything about it. But the crying... He just didn't like hearing her cry. He was trying to tough her up. Tough love? Jack is a frustrating character. Sometimes I love him and sometimes I want him to jump off a cliff. I love it when he talks to Evie in French. I think it is one of many dreams a girls has about boys. A boy that can talk to you in a different language. They keep traveling dodging Bagman (zombies) and slavers. They finally find a house that is surrounded by a fence, has a pool, air conditioning, electricity, running water, and a saltwater pool. Well, things get a little heated between Jack and Evie.... If you know what I mean.. Well, after Evie backs out and Jack gets mad, a girl named Selena comes back to her home and it turns out she is like Evie. Selena is instantly drawn to Jack. Since they fought, Jack thought he would try to get back at Evie for hurting his feelings. Of course, the idiot starts flirting with Selena. Of course, Evie gets mad and goes to her room. That night she has nightmares about Matthew drowning in his basement. She wakes up and walks into the kitchen to find them "playing house". She storms out of the house telling them that she is going for her Grandmother. Jack chases her out side and they of course starts arguing. He tells her he was just trying to make her jealous. She starts getting a nosebleed, passes out, and Matthew pops up and it turns out he is trapped in a flooding basement. Jack wakes her up and he agrees to help her get to him. Of course, the idiot asks Selena to go with them and she does. They get to him in time and Evie sees a medical bracelet on his wrist that says 'Autistic'. Which explains why he didn't make much sense. After they get him home, Matthew keeps talking about how Death was coming for her and she had to be prepared. She meets Death in a dream and dang is he smokin'. Why does Death have to be so attractive in books? This is a logical question. They all start traveling toward North Carolina(or wherever her Grandmother is),but they run out of gas, so Selena and Jack decide to raid the crazy militia people. Yes, we have a couple of geniuses on our hands. They leave Matthew, a autistic Star Wars theme song whistlin' boy, and Evie alone in the back of a van with a machete.... Yes, you know how this is going to turn out. So they get captured and thrown in a cage with Fin, another boy who happens to be like them. They are going to be used as Bagmen bait and Evie is going to be used as a bride, because they are lacking women. Why are the women gone? I have no idea. Jack and Selena frees them from the cage and the general or whatever he is tells Jack that he just wants the girl. Of course, that sets off Jack's protective side for Evie. He goes crazy and kills him with his bare hands. I'm telling you, this guy needs therapy. The more I keep describing him the more I think that. Anyway, Evie has another nightmare. She has been having dreams about "The Red Witch" since the beginning of the book. Turns out she's the Red Witch. She freaks out and trips in the bathroom causing her to scream. Jack comes beating on the door demanding that she let him in. When that doesn't work, He punches down the door. Yes, punches. He holds her and they go to a bedroom and they talk. He wants her to give up on finding her grandmother and just go back farther south and live if him and he promises to take care of her. Of course,at that moment I was like,"Oh! He is so amazing! Go with him Evie! Gooo with him!" She turns him down and he throws a fit. He told her that she either went with him or they were done. She told him she had to go find her Grandmother. Jack gets mad and throws a fit like a two year old and storms out of the room. Leaving her crying. Matthew comes in of course being cryptic and sits with her the rest of the night. The next morning she gets up and sees Jack and Selena in the kitchen making out. She runs out the back door stealing Fin's truck and drives until she runs out of gas. She walks and that is when you catch up to the prologue. Arthur is psychotic, but I think I would be too. I didn't really like the way Krelsey switched between Arthur's and Evie's point of view at first, but it grew on me. She goes all psycho on Arthur's butt and frees the poor girls stuck in the basement, of course Jack and all of them catch up to them as soon as she killed him which she did in a pretty gruesome way. Jack ends up scared of her and the book ends. If you made it to the end of this I am so happy! I wish I could give you a cookie, a star, or your choice of a fictional boyfriend. I mean the book was almost 500 pages long and it had a lot of detail. I tried to get in as much as possible, but it was hard. I tried to hit the main points, but again it was a very detailed book. I give this book 4 out of 5 stars 3.5 out of 5 packs of gum for Romance 4 out 5 arrows for Violence. Check it out here ->_ Emma The Tomorrow's Past Series continues with, "Tomorrow's Past: The Raid". At the end of 'The Reunion', Marcus and Kim found out that their brother was alive and being held at an enemy base. While planning their rescue mission, they also learn that Haven is being threatened by the Jackals. Facing this difficult decision, they proceed on a path that will ultimately change their lives forever. ‘The Raid’ is packed with explosions, raptors, Jackals, and even a little bit of space history. Will Marcus be able to defeat the Jackals and make it to their base to save his brother? Will Marcus and his group ever have peace in their Haven? Find out in ‘Tomorrow's Past: The Raid’ the fourth installment of the continuing series ‘Tomorrow’s Past’. In the Reunion, Marcus found out that his brother was alive but being held prisoner. Kim and Marcus are determined to head out and rescue him. Before they can head that way they have to head back to Haven for supplies. On their way back they stop by the Huntsville Air and Space museum to pick up some needed supplies. While they are there Jocelyn tells them that there are two boys being hunted by raptors. So Marcus being the hero again is determined to rescue them. This time he takes his sniper rifle. yeah buddy. Him and Kim are like this. They rescue the two boys Luke and Conner and are on their way to Haven when Wynd tells them that Jocelyn has picked up sightings of Jackals headed Haven's way. They make a plan to handle the Jackals once and for all. Marcus tricks them and ends up blowing them up with Dragonfire missiles. Yes Marcus likes blowing things up. Before blowing them up Marcus did give them a chance to surrender and hated that he had to end so many lives but it was to save more lives. Finally Marcus and Kim start preparing for their trip to rescue their brother David. They have gotten two helos. Before Marcus leaves he tells Wynd that he loves her and that he is coming back. They take off on their mission to rescue David from the main Jackal base. And this is where my review ends because I am not spoiling the ending for you guys. But this was me. This too. *shakes fist* CURSE YOU MORGAN! One of the reasons I give his books such high stars is because he doesn't repeat every single thought from the previous books. I also find his characters to be really realistic and believable as characters. I again want to rub it in ya'll's faces that I get ARCs of this series. Ha! and technically I'm a beta reader.
I give this book a 5 out of 5 stars. A 3 out of 5 kisses for Romance. A 5 out of 5 Raptors for Violence. An age rating of 12 and up. Madison I am Gwen Frost, and I have a Gypsy gift. It's called psychometry - that's a fancy way of saying that I see images in my head and get flashes of other people's memories off almost everything I touch, even guys. My gift makes me kind of nosy. Okay, okay, maybe a lot nosy--to the point of obsession sometimes. I want to know everything about everyone around me. But even I don't want to know the secrets my friend Paige is hiding or the terrible loss that will send me to a new school - Mythos Academy, where the teachers aren't preparing us for the SATs, but to battle Reapers of Chaos. Now I have no friends and no idea how my gift fits in with all these warrior whiz kids. The only thing I do know is that my life is never, ever going to be the same. . . I decided to start reading this series because I received a copy of the latest book for free. I have been wanting to read these books for a while now but had never gotten around to reading them. Now this book is technically .05 it's a novella. So this review won't necessarily be very long. Okay this book introduces you to the main character of the Mythos Academy Series, Gwen Frost. I have found one problem I have with this series seeing as I am currently reading the 3rd book. The author is seriously repetitive. Like I am in the 3rd book and she still goes into detail of Gwen's powers in every.single.book. Please go on the assumption that I have read the previous books. Also everything that has happened in the 2 previous books is still gone over in the 3rd book. Okay really? how many times are you gonna have to tell me this??? that being said I still give this a solid 4 stars as a series. It would be a 5 star if she didn't spend all the time repeating herself. When she starts explaining from the previous books, I find myself skimming over those to get to the actual point. I mean really? Seriously. Don't tell me again. Just no. NO. How about no. I honestly meant this to be a small review but it kinda turned into a rant over the repetitive quality that happens. Sorry guys. Anyway this novella gives the backstory of Gwen. She is a Gypsy. Please for goodness sake do not call it "her Gypsy gift" or "psychometry". I have heard that 50 millions times. We get it. Anyway I'm gonna call it her powers cause that isn't worn out yet. She has the ability to touch any object or person and get the feelings they had or what happened when they used the object etc. She can see all their secrets. SHHH.. We start out when she is at public school and asks to use a girl's hairbrush. These kids at her school know that something is different about her that she is able to find any of their missing objects for a fee. Yep. Anyway she asks to use a girl's hairbrush. Her name is Paige. When she touches the girl's hairbrush she sees something very bad. Paige's stepdad would brush her hair and then he would rape her. Gwen is so upset about what she sees that she starts screaming and keeps screaming even after she passes out. Keep on kicking him girl. Gwen wakes up in the hospital and tells her mom what she had seen. Gwen's mom, Grace, is a police officer who is also a Gypsy. Her mom's power is the ability to tell when people are lying or telling the truth. She knows that Gwen is telling the truth about this and arrests Paige's stepdad. On Grace's way home from work she is t-boned by a drunk driver and killed instantly. This book ends with Professor Metis coming from Mythos Academy to Gwen's grandmother's house (who is also a Gypsy with the power to see the future) to take Gwen to Mythos. Basically that's all for this book.
I give this novella a 3.5 out of 5 stars. A 0 out of 5 kisses for Romance. A 1 out of 5 cars for Violence. Madison Cassel comes from a shady, magical family of con artists and grifters. He doesn’t fit in at home or at school, so he’s used to feeling like an outsider. He’s also used to feeling guilty—he killed his best friend, Lila, years ago.But when Cassel begins to have strange dreams about a white cat, and people around him are losing their memories, he starts to wonder what really happened to Lila. In his search for answers, he discovers a wicked plot for power that seems certain to succeed. But Cassel has other ideas—and a plan to con the conmen. Okay second confession of the day. I am actually reviewing a book i didn't like. I found the main character somewhat of a jerk and I also found some of the parts of the book seriously creepy. Emma however liked the book, which is odd. The one other book can think of that we disagree on is Wither. Stupid book too. It's very depressing. Anyway. The book consisted of what's his name....wait Cassel. Wow apparently I decided not to remember some of this book. Like um the main character's name....anyway. Cassel starts having creepy dream with a white cat in it. He for some reason thinks it is Lila who had the power to dreamwalk. As far as he is aware he has no super secret powers. And FYI just insert a big clue here. Anyway a bunch of stuff happened and Cassel ends up with a white cat which he visualizes turning into Lila. And tada! Presto he magically turns her back into a girl. Note: Cassel has always had a crush on Lila. Hold onto that thought. Anyway Lila tells him that he was the one that turned her into a cat that she didn't actually die. His brother is a memory worker and erased his mind each night after making him kill someone. He later finds this out for himself when he puts memory stones into the inside of his ankle. Like slices his leg open and puts the stones in. yeah icky gross. He finds out that both his brothers are plotting to use him to assassinate Lila's father who is like a curseworker crime boss dude. Him and Lila and a couple of his friends work out a plan to set his brothers up. Everything goes pretty much as planned and then we get to the ending....Another note: I was sorta liking this book up to this point. Cassel's mother has been in jail throughout the book. She gets out of jail and she is a like emotion worker and convinces Lila to be in love with her son making what he thought was a start of relationship until he found out about that. What a stinking downer. I will not be reading the next book. I give this book a rating of 2 out of 5 stars. A 1 out of 5 kisses for Romance A 3 out of 5 curses for Violence A 4 out of 5 on a creepiness scale A 0 out of 5 chance that I'm reading the sequel. Your sarcasm of the day was brought to you by Madison Morgan and Katherine Pierce. You're Welcome.
Ambria Donnelly thought she had everything all figured out. A senior in high school, she knows exactly what she wants out of life and where she is going. After her last boyfriend broke her heart, Bri swore off boys and dating, instead focusing on school, and dance, and getting into Stanford like she’d always dreamed. Until a chance meeting at the beach pushes her resolve, and threatens to unravel all her carefully made plans. Cole Marra had never really thought much about the future. He’d always had his dad, or his friends, there to make those kinds of decisions for him. He isn’t even sure who he is, let alone what he wants. Until the day Bri walks into his life and changes everything. Suddenly his future, which was uncertain at best, begins to take shape as he finally decides what he wants out of life. And now that he’s found it, he won’t let her go. But when Bri finds out that Cole isn’t exactly who she thought he was, everything between them falls apart. Now, Cole has to decide how hard he’s willing to fight for what he wants. Bri has to decide if she’s willing to open herself up and risk her heart again. They both must work to overcome their own issues, and decide if it’s worth taking a chance on love. Or, will the walls and defenses keeping them apart be too much to overcome? Now guys I must confess to you all. I have a tendency to umm.....Well I judge a book by its cover. I love pretty covers on books. So I saw this book and I am like OOOOO! And it just so happened that I got Amazon Prime for Christmas so the book rental was free. So I was like.....hmmm.....maybe I'll try it. This is a note. It has been years since I have read just a romance book. Paranormal romance and stuff yeah all the time but nothing odd about the characters nope. No Damon I'm not kidding you. I would never kid you. Oh what was I saying? Oh yes. Anyway I started reading it and I am like oh this is amazing. Then I reached the part that happens in every romance. The danger that they will break up! I admit it.....I cried. Okay anyway. This book was still amazing even though it made me cry. I want a Cole. DON'T YOU DARE JUDGE ME FOR WANTING FICTIONAL GUYS. You are totally in the same boat if you are reading this blog right now. Just saying. And rant over. I apologize. I have been increasingly violent this week. Yeah. Anyway back to Cole. Cole is so sweet and nice to Bri when we meet him in the first chapter. Then when she meets him at school, He does a complete 180 and acts like a complete jerk. I wanted to throw small objects. Anyway she finds out that the he can't stand to disappoint anyone. so he is whoever the person he is around whether it be his dad or friends he adjusts to be the person they expect him to be. because when his mom died he hid his feelings to be strong for his dad. With Bri he finds out he can actually be himself. Bri's character is severely judgmental sometimes because her first boyfriend betrayed her in a horrible way. Both of the characters have their issues but with each other they overcome those eventually.....what you you mean by eventually? Well.... They breakup near the end. Cole is an awesome painter and he painted a huge collage of pictures of Bri for his project. She thought this was a way of making fun of her that he really didn't care for her. She didn't think she was capable of love. The idiot broke poor Cole's heart. He told her that he loved her and that painting was showing her that and she went all stupid and broke up with him. I started crying. I always do when the guy is upset. No idea why. But I was like Bri WHAT.THE.CRAP. you're an idiot. I wanted to slap her. In the end she gives up her dream college to go to his college so she can try to win him back. She finally realized was capable of love and had to go after him. She tells him that this is where she goes to college and that she loves him and everything is all sunshine and rainbows. The End. I hope you enjoyed my somewhat scatterbrained review. I give this book a 5 out 5 stars.
A 5 out of 5 kisses. and well a violence rating of well...She made me violent does that count?? Madison With power comes enemies. Lots of them. Hunter Garrity just wants to be left alone. He’s learned the hard way that his unusual abilities come at a price. And he can’t seem to afford any allies. He’s up to his neck in hostiles. His grandfather, spoiling for a fight. The Merrick brothers, who think he ratted them out. Calla, the scheming psycho who wants to use him as bait. Then there’s Kate Sullivan, the new girl at school. She’s not hostile. She’s bold. Funny. Hot. But she’s got an agenda, too. With supposedly secret powers rippling to the surface everywhere around him, Hunter knows something ugly is about to go down. But finding out what means he’ll have to find someone he can trust… Warning this review will contain spoilers. DO NOT READ THIS REVIEW IF YOU HAVEN'T READ THE BOOK! I was a mess reading this book. I probably looked to everyone like a crazy person with all the mood swings I had while reading this. I would go from so happy for him to crying because what he is going through is so sad. I mean his grandfather slugs him and kicks him out. His mom just stands there and watches while that happens. I want to punch the crap out of them! Hunter is amazing how could they do that! Okay enough hitting things for now....But I had mixed feelings over Hunter at the start of the book. After what had happened in the previous books, I wasn't sure if I would like Hunter. But oh gosh now I love him. I spent half the book yelling let me love you! Anyway enter Kate. Kate immediately catches Hunter's eye and he isn't sure why. It's because like him, she is a 5th. Their element is spirit. They have some control over all the other elements. When Hunter sees Kate he's all like. Hunter thinks she's a player cause she flirts with every guy she sees, especially him. They text back and forth and its very funny and cute. I have to say for YA there a few *ahem* risque moments. Anyway after a lot of major moments, Hunter and Kate have their "moment". Mhmm yep they did. But from there Brigid rips out my heart and stomps on it with glee. After Kate and Hunter get together Silver (evil baddie) hunts them down.....and in a horrible way murders Kate. I cried. Hunter was so devastated because she was the only person he had allowed himself to trust. In the end though he ends up bonding with the Merrick brothers becoming a part of their family. He also reconciles with his mother. He also picks what side he is on. He joins with the Merrick brothers to fight against the guides. Still sad about Kate but now maybe Hunter can trust more easily? I give this book a 5 out of 5 stars.
A 4 out of 5 kisses for Romance. A 5 out of 5 arrows for Violence. (you will get the arrows once you read it.) Also an age rating of 17 and up. Madison Nowhere is safe. Not even home… Nick Merrick is stretched to the breaking point. Keep his grades sky-high or he’ll never escape his hometown. Keep his brother’s business going or the Merricks will be out on the street. Keep the secret of where he’s going in the evenings from his own twin—-or he’ll lose his family. Keep his mind off the hot, self-assured dancer who’s supposed to be his “girlfriend’s” partner. Of course there’s also the homicidal freak Quinn has taken to hanging around, and the Elemental Guide counting the hours until he can try again to kill the Merrick brothers. There’s a storm coming. From all sides. And then some. Nick Merrick, can you keep it together? This review will be spoiler free. I know, I know....You are shocked I am giving a spoiler free. Well just deal with it. I received a digital copy of this book on a read-to-review basis. Thanks to Kensington Books and Netgalley. When I found out I had got a approved for my first read review I literally squeeeeeed. Yes its a word don't argue with me. I for one love all of Brigid Kemmerer's books. This one gets a solid 4 stars because this book sucks you in. I read Spirit and Secret back to back in a day because I could not put them down. You truly feel Nick's struggle throughout this book. I applaud Brigid for also addressing bullying and domestic abuse that is happening around the world. I will also choose in this review not to reveal Nick's secret. Yes that is a gif for secret. Shhhh! This book keeps you on an emotional rampage. Or at least it did for me. I cried several times and felt how at times how lost Nick and Quinn were in this book. Anyway throughout this book Brigid has the talent to make you actually like an unlikeable character, Tyler Morgan. I thought my feelings couldn't be changed about him but she proved me wrong. She also had the ability to make me actually feel sorry for Quinn at times. Quinn's home situation is so horrible. I am so glad by the end of the book that she gets the guy and is out of that horrid environment. I totally ship Tyler and Quinn now. I for one was actually surprised that I actually loved this book. I didn't think I would after finding out Nick's secret but Brigid did an amazing job and made me love it. Again I want to thank Kensington Books and Netgalley for giving my first chance to do a read-review for them. I give Secret
a 4 out of 5 stars a 5 out of 5 kisses for Romance a 4 out of 5 tornadoes for Violence Madison The Tomorrow's Past Series continues with the third installment, “Tomorrow's Past: The Reunion”. At the end of ‘The Rescue’ we were left hanging when we found out that Marcus' sister was in fact, alive. This installment is action packed as he sets off to reunite with his sister and encounters many dangers along the way, including even more dinosaurs and mercenaries. Marcus is determined to rescue his sister and those with her. Will Marcus be reunited with his sister? The Reunion picks up where the The Rescue left off. Marcus finds out that his sister and brother are in fact alive and Marcus sets off to get his sister and her group. He sets out with the MAV and a motorcycle attached to the back in order to get everyone back. He ends up blowing up the Allosaurs that are keeping Kim and her group pinned inside a building. Yep you heard right. Blew them up. Yep Marcus is a take care of business kinda guy. Anyway on their way back home, Jocelyn picks up the sound of a young girl crying out for help. Marcus being the dashing hero that he is sets off on the motorcycle to rescue her. Yes he does a good deal of rescuing. Which is not surprising because this is a post apocalyptic world. He rescues Savvy (the girl crying for help) and finds out she is being chased because she has intel on the Jackals. They are being chased by the Jackals on their way back to the compound. They are later surrounded and Marcus fakes pulling out his gun and proceeds to shoot the leader of the Jackals and is then shot twice. Luckily for us, Marcus was wearing a bulletproof vest. Jocelyn and Kim come in with the MAV and save the day by gunning all the Jackals surrounding Marcus and Savvy. Marcus and Savvy make it back to the compound with a few bumps and bruises but otherwise okay. The book ends with them celebrating Thanksgiving and Christmas.....And them finding out where their brother is.... I honestly love all of these books. They might be small but the detail and effort that goes in the making of them makes them more than worth the effort. You can truly see how much the author loves to write. I for one am so glad that I got an ARC of The Raid. Yeah stinks for you guys ha!
I give this book a 5 out of 5 Stars. A 4 out of 5 Allosaurs for violence. A 3 out of 5 kisses for Romance. Madison |
