"Dying sucks
...and high school senior Ember McWilliams knows firsthand.
After a fatal car accident, her gifted little sister brought her back. Now anything Ember touches dies. And that, well, really blows.
Ember operates on a no-touch policy with all living things--including boys. When Hayden Cromwell shows up, quoting Oscar Wilde and claiming her curse is a gift, she thinks he's a crazed cutie. But when he tells her he can help control it, she's more than interested. There's just one catch: Ember has to trust Hayden's adopted father, a man she's sure has sinister reasons for collecting children whose abilities even weird her out. However, she's willing to do anything to hold her sister's hand again. And she'd also like to be able to kiss Hayden. Who wouldn't?
But when Ember learns the accident that turned her into a freak may not've been an accident at all, she's not sure who to trust. Someone wanted her dead, and the closer she gets to the truth, the closer she is to losing not only her heart, but her life.
For real this time."

First thing this book did was really freak me out....I thought that it was a ghost book and was unaware of the fact when I got it...but no! alas I was saved! It was in fact a book about gifted people. It starts out with Ember and her sister Olivia who have to take care of each other and their mom because their mom has totally shut down since the accident where her husband died and her daughter was brought back to life by her little sister Olivia. Anything Ember touches that is alive is dead within seconds of her touching it, whether it be a cat, plant, or person. For this reason she distances herself from all people except for her only friend Adam. He doesn't know the truth but he is the only one that treats her normally. Most kids call her freak because of her scars, her eyes which were the palest shade of blue imaginable and the fact she always wears flesh colored gloves and sweaters. I'm sure this is how she feels....I know its how I would feel.
Butttttttttttttttttttttttttttttttt!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! Enter Hayden Cromwell..Hot....Tall...Deep brown hair...chocolate brown eyes that were almost black....Hot...oh and HOT!
So after she meets Hayden.....
Sorry about that I got distracted....Anyway...after she meets Hayden someone accidentally touches Ember's skin and is killed instantly resulting in Ember, Olivia, and their mom's move into the Cromwell's household in West Virginia.
Warning Hayden does occasionally come off as kinda stalkery....I know that's not a word but I will be using it. He fell in love with Ember the first moment he saw her. Oh the curse of instalove...but he's so dreamy and sweet and adorable I am gonna stop or I'm gonna keep gushing....
“Listen to me, Ember. I couldn’t hurt you. I can’t.” Hayden settled his eyes on me. They were softer than I’d ever seen. “I love you— I’ve loved you since the first time I saw you.”

Jennifer Armentrout has the ability to make the most hot...totally imaginable guys in her books....le sigh.....Anyway in the end everything turns out great and there is a happy ending!
