A powerful debut novel about the gray space between truth and perception.
Quinn’s done the unthinkable: she kissed a guy who is not Carey, her boyfriend. And she got caught. Being branded a cheater would be bad enough, but Quinn is deemed a traitor, and shunned by all of her friends. Because Carey’s not just any guy—he’s serving in Afghanistan and revered by everyone in their small, military town.
Quinn could clear her name, but that would mean revealing secrets that she’s vowed to keep—secrets that aren't hers to share. And when Carey goes MIA, Quinn must decide how far she’ll go to protect her boyfriend…and her promise.

Okay, it has been a while since I read this so don't hold me to everything I am writing.
I feel really sorry for Quinn throughout the entire book, she has this huge secret that she is keeping for her bestfriend, he is also practically in love with her other bestfriend (Blake), her mother cheated on her Dad when she was young and and left her, and her father is not the most loving and understanding.

Quinn's father makes her volunteer at a VA hospital where she meets George and they become bestfriends. George is the only one that doesn't see Quinn as a terrible person and doesn't judge her. He becomes more of a grandfatherly figure.
Blake (aka guy quinn loves) isn't in it a lot. He has important parts, but he doesn't have a lot to do with Quinn. He regrets what happens between them. He later finds out the secret and tells Quinn how he really feels. (I think. I wouldn't hold me to that. I may have just wanted that to happen)
I would just like to say that she handles it a whole lot better than I would've. I wouldn't be able to handle the pressure and caved and told his secret, but she was a good friend, a trustworthy friend.
In the end, the secret "comes out"

Clever play on words if I do say so myself.
and everyone has to eat crow and apologize on how they treated Quinn. That I am glad about.
I hope you liked the review. It is short sweet and to the point, but I this was all I honestly had time for, and all I could remember.
