There is need. And then there is Fate.
Being destined to become some kind of supernatural electrical outlet isn't
exactly awesome--especially when Alexandria's "other half" is everywhere she goes. Seth's in her raining room, outside her classes, and keeps showing up in her bedroom--so not cool. Their connection does have some benefits, like staving off her nightmares of the tragic showdown with her mother, but it has no effect on what Alex feels for the forbidden, pure-blooded Aiden. Or what he will do--and sacrifice--for her. When daimons infiltrate the Covenants and attack students, the gods send furies--lesser gods determined to eradicate any threat to the Covenants and to the gods, and that includes the Apollyon--and Alex. And if that and hordes of aether-sucking monsters didn't blow bad enough, a mysterious threat seems willing to do anything to neutralize Seth, even if that means forcing Alex into servitude--or killing her. When the gods are involved, some decisions can never, ever be undone.

First of all I want to praise Jennifer Armentrout for making such likeable/hot male characters. I loved Aiden in the first book Half-Blood and hated Seth. This book gave me so many mixed feelings over both guys. First I wanted her to be with Aiden but then Seth started to show promise too. By the end of the book, I was so confused on who I wanted her to be with....I was like him below going oh I want her to be with him! then I would do the same with the other.
Let's just skip over Alexandria.....Cause you know who cares about the heroine really....Okay. Okay I will give a small brief moment about her.... She is strong, stubborn, and ALWAYS gets into trouble. She is a half-blood, so she is half human half pure blood Hematoi. She is also the other Apollyon who when there are two are destined to be the "god killers". She is in school to be a Sentiel, Those who hunt down daimons. Daimons are stinking scary. Only half-bloods can see through their façade...revealing a paled skinned empty, glowing black eyes that suck the aether out of pure bloods....
Sorry I got a bit scared for a second. They are pure evil though. seriously. oh...well let me switch back to the guys. Oh and just to clarify Seth the Apollyon is a half-blood...and Aiden is a pure-blood. Relationships between pures and halfs are illegal. Like if Alex gets caught she will be put into servitude illegal. Like mind control servitude....
Let's start with Aiden. Super hot...sometimes sweet...jerklike in this book....brave....totally off limits..droolworthy...but the good guy out of the two. Also he kicks major butt.
Then there is Seth....The bad boy...who doesn't love a bad boy?? but the bad thing about this bad boy is that he is total player and very cocky and conceited. But he is hot and truly seems to care about Alex and can actually be with her unlike Aiden.
I'm conflicted over who I want her to be with. Whoever she doesn't pick I'll take...or I'll take both...Anyway this book was awesome but made me long for my library to hurry up and get me Deity the Third Covenant novel.
I give this book a 5 out of 5 stars
