My first thought when author of Mythos Academy described Logan I immediately thought of a dark haired Kellan Lutz. Yeah buddy.
"Everything about Logan screamed bad boy, from his thick, silky, ink-black hair to his intense ice blue eyes to the black leather jacket that highlighted his broad shoulders. Oh yeah, he was sexy, in a rough, rumpled, I-just-climbed-out-of-some-girl's-bed kind of way."
Yep I know I did. Anyway Logan starts out as well....uh....manho. Yeah. Well he had a tendency to sign his name on girls beds....Yeah anyway.
Logan is a Spartan. He is a descendant of the ancient warriors. He also has the rep of being the best fighter at Mythos. Spartans have the ability of when they see an object whether it be a box...cookie....whatever.....he would know immediately how to kill someone with it. Yep he is pretty awesome.
Well anyway. Logan was all manhoey when he met Gwen. But as soon as she runs into him....like multiple times he starts to like her and change a little by little. After Logan saves Gwen twice, she asks if they can like go out. He tells her no because he doesn't want her to see his secret. *Note Gwen can touch people and see all their secrets and everything about them, she tries to avoid touching people in general so this was a big step for her*
His secret is when he was around 5 he hid in the closet with a sword while his mother and sister were brutally murdered. Yeah POOR LOGAN! It's time for a let me love you gif.
So eventually in the second book, Gwen finds out that she has the power to channel another persons abilities, like archery....swordfighting.... Logan was badly hurt trying to save Gwen and they both agree to a kiss so Gwen can touch him collecting his memories so she can channel them and beat the baddie. When they do kiss, Gwen finds out his sad secret.
She doesn't think of him in any other way than she did before nothing changed for her. Eventually at the end of book two Gwen and Logan get together and it makes me squeeeee! Anyway this is the end of this obsession....for now.
Warning- This man will make you squee( a official word in Madison's vocabulary) and make you wish that all men were like him.
Here's another warning- This will have spoilers.
Travis "Mad Dog" Maddox. Normally, I would hate the name Travis, but dang. Does he change my mind.
So, a hot, tatted up, strong guy that you met in an underground fight club and is bestfriends with your bestfriend's boyfriend asks you out? What do you do? My response used to be "No, what the crap are you thinking??? Do you lack a brain?".
Now, my stance has changed. I would probably jump him and ask him to marry me right then and there. THIS is the sad truth.
Ok, this guy is a manslut in the beginning. I am just going to come out and say.
Buuutttttt, let me add a big ole' but here. He does changes,Abby changes him. It is every girl's dream to take a bad boy and make him want to change for you. Sadly, that mostly only happens in the fictional world. He wants to be better for her and take care of her. Yes, he can be stupid. Yes, he messes up,but in the words of Moriarty....
After a little while they make a bet and she has to live with him for a month, because she loses.
He has never had a girlfriend, and has never really cared about a girl before her. Abby made me mad a majority of the time, but there were several times where I wanted to scream at Travis. I was like "What the heck,Travis? What are you doing?".
Like, trying *get* with Abby, but she turns him down. So, wonder brain goes out to the nearest bar and finds a random girls to hook up with. What.The.Crap. Travis, honey, grow your butt up! Just because she doesn't give you what you want, doesn't mean you can go out and act like that! You aren't going to win her that way.
He does wake up the next morning and regrets it and tries to buy her stuff to convince her to stay.
After that, he seems to get it through his thick, but very pretty skull, that that is not how you woo a girl.
Even though he is rough around the edges, he has great character growth.
I finished this book in about four hours. Let's just say,Madison's sleep schedule is funny and when we have sleepovers, I have several hours on my hands. So, I read.
I had to stop, set the book down, and breathe. This books has a lot of feels and Travis gave me a lot of feels.
This is definitely not for younger teens. I was mentally scarred and I am almost eighteen, or it could be just me. Anyway, read this book, and you will love Travis. There are conflicting, very inaccurate reviews on Goodreads. Don't believe them.
I hope you got the basic concept of Travis. It was a little bit crazy, but I tried.
