Shocking secrets
Evie has fully come into her powers as the Tarot Empress, and Jack was there to see it all. She now knows that the teens who've been reincarnated as the Tarot are in the throes of an epic battle. It's kill or be killed, and the future of mankind hangs in the balance.
Unexpected allies
With threats lurking around every corner, Evie is forced to trust her newfound alliance. Together they must fight not only other Arcana, but also Bagmen zombies, post-apocalyptic storms, and cannibals.
Gut-wrenching treachery
When Evie meets Death, things get even more complicated. Though falling for Jack, she's drawn to the dangerous Endless Knight as well. Somehow the Empress and Death share a history, one that Evie can't remember--but Death can't forget...
What's up my fellow geeks? Well, I'm doing pretty good! I am reviewing the second book in the Arcana Chronicles by Kresley Cole. You can check out the review I did for Poison Princess as a refresher about what happened in the first book. I certainly had to look at it. _ <- Clicky there if you need to remember. So, my fellow geekites, let's get this review going.
So, at the end of the first book, we see Evie going all creepy Red Witch and Jack staring at her like she is the Devil incarnate. Which I don't blame the poor dude. He has had a weird couple of months. If my boyfriend(in his case, girlfriend) started doin' some weird crap with plants, I would be freaking out a little. Well, I would be running away screamin'.

Hopefully, I would come back after I digested the fact that my boyfriend could summon an armada of people killing plants by pouring his blood on the ground. I think I have justified Jack simple "cross reaction".
Now, onto the looovveee. Now, this book ripped my Jack loving heart into pieces. Why? They introduced a second love interest. Not only does it have one bad boy, but it has TWO!

Now, everyone that has read anything or knows me personally knows I love the bad boys. Krelsey Cole! Curses to you! You have introduced a love triangle with two perfect bad boys!
If I remember correctly, he was kind of introduced as a love interest in the first one. Well, the second love interest is Death. I know you are thinking. "Seriously? Death? He has tormented her forever!" Well, guess what? He turns out to be really amazing. Shocking, I know. Also, here comes a shocker, I got mad at Jack.
This may be my new favorite gif.
Okay, so it wasn't "I wish this boy would fall off a cliff" mad,but more of a "I want to slap him upside the head and ask him why he is so stupid". Back to Death! Death is one of the misunderstood characters of the book world. He has a very tormented past and is often alone since his touch kills everyone.

Guess who can live even when he touches her? Evie. This is why he is obsessed with her,but who can blame him? If I was alive for thousands of years, I would be a little obsessed with someone I could actually touch and not kill.
So, in conclusion, I have a hard time deciding which man I want evie to end up with. I mean there is Jack, the Daryl-like motorcycle riding, crossbow totin' Cajun man and then there Death/Aric is the educated, well-read knight with a bad side. As you can see, I am torn. The ending is a cliff hanger and will make you hunt for the third.

I hoped you liked the book and I highly recommend this series!
